Email Support Policy
At WP Lifeline, our focus is WordPress website hosting, maintenance, and support. While professional email is essential for business communication, we do not provide email hosting as part of our Care Plans.
Email hosting requires dedicated infrastructure for deliverability, spam filtering, storage, and uptime. Providers such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and Zoho Mail are better positioned to deliver these services at scale and lower cost than we can.
We recommend all clients use one of these providers (or another professional email host of their choice). Configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing management of email should be handled by the provider you pay for email services.
1. No Email Hosting
WP Lifeline does not create or host email accounts as part of our Care Plans.
2. Legacy Email Clients
A small number of long-time clients continue to use email services originally provided under Clevely Web Co (now WP Lifeline). We will maintain this legacy support, but we strongly recommend migrating to a dedicated provider for long-term reliability, security, and scalability.
3. DNS & Email Authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
These records are part of your domain’s DNS settings and are required for proper deliverability. Your email provider generates them, and you or your DNS provider add them. We do not add, edit or troubleshoot them. Our DNS Management Policy explains what we do and do not do with DNS.
- Your email provider can tell you exactly which records to add and confirm they work. Most providers publish step-by-step guides and offer free support.
- Emails sent by your website, such as contact form notifications, do not depend on these records. See our FAQ for details.
4. Scope Limitations
WP Lifeline does not provide:
- Ongoing email hosting or inbox management
- Troubleshooting deliverability issues (emails going to spam, blocked mail servers, etc.), except for messages sent from your website through our supported email relay (SendGrid via Post SMTP)
- Setup or support for email clients such as Outlook, Apple Mail, or mobile apps
- Administration of Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or other hosted email platforms
- Migration of email accounts or data between providers
- Adding, editing or troubleshooting SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX or other email-related DNS records
5. Our Commitment
While we do not provide email hosting, we will:
- Provide guidance and point you toward the correct documentation from your provider
- As described in our DNS Management Policy, add the DNS records needed to launch or migrate your website
- Recommend reliable email providers that fit your business needs and budget
Our focus is keeping your WordPress website secure, optimized, and running smoothly, while helping ensure you are connected with the right resources for your professional email needs.
